Reading the Bible through in a year is often on our New Year's resolutions list. We start strong but soon lose the motivation to continue. I know, because this was my story for many years. I finally realized that I needed others to keep me motivated

Reading the Bible with a group has several advantages. First, you have other people to explore the answers to your questions as you read a difficult passage. Because the Bible is an ancient text it can sometimes be confusing to understand. Having a safe place to ask your questions enables you to honestly explore the answers to your questions. The second advantage to reading in a group is that it provides you with the motivation to stick with it. Reading the Bible consistently is like any learned skill. It takes time to make it a habit. Once the habit is established your motivation to continue is greatly enhanced.

In 2024 we will be using the Bible Recap chronological plan. You can access the list of readings online or through a downloadable handout with all of the readings listed. We will also be using the Bible Recap Podcasts, which provide 6-8 minute daily podcasts that highlight the day’s reading (see below for links to the various podcasts). To make things easier, we will also create a group in Realm and the Bible App that will allow you to share your 'ah-ha" moments and a place to ask questions. We will also post helpful maps, charts, and other documents to assist you in your readings.

The good news is that you don't need to be a member of our church OR even live in the OKC area. Most of the communication is done via the online groups. We will also offer a Wednesday night Bible study that will be available virtually, via Zoom. This group will explore the questions and the highlights of that week's reading. We start at 6:30 PM (CST) and usually end between 7:30 and 7:45 PM.
